How to 3D Print in the Library

Current students, faculty and staff at University of Ontario Institute of Technology and Durham College may use the 3D printing service subject to the Library's guidelines.

1. Create your own design, or choose from designs shared by others. 
To get help, drop by the Library reference desk to speak to our staff or the Student 3D Printing Design Assistant, or email
2. Fill in the request form and upload your file. 
3. Approve the cost. 
  • We will email you the estimated cost ($1.50/hour) and print date. 
  • To estimate on your own, download Cura (North Oshawa Library) or Makerbot Print (Social Science and Education Library) for free. Open your file and view the print time. 
4. Pick up your completed object. 
  • We will email you when the print is complete.

Monday to Thursday 8:30am - 8:00pm; Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm

3D Printing Design Assistant Hours:

Monday 10:30am -12:30pm; Tuesday & Thursday 4:00pm - 8:00pm

Social Science and Education Library

Printing hours:

Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 6:00pm; Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm
