The North Oshawa Library provides approximately 600 study spaces available on a first-come first-served basis. These facilities consist of a mixture of soft seating, study tables and study carrels.
To ensure that the North Oshawa Library meets the needs of patrons the building is divided into Noise Zones. Signs are posted throughout the building indicating the zone in different areas.
The classrooms on the first floor are used by library staff for instructing students in research-related skills.

There are ten group study rooms available for booking at the North Oshawa Library. The rooms are equipped with whiteboards and wireless/wired internet connections. Bookings can be made online through the Group Study Room booking system.
