To ensure more equitable access to high-demand items, instructors may place items "on reserve" in any UOIT library. Items will be designated as 3 hour loan, 1 day loan, or 3 day loan by the instructor.
Only current UOIT students, faculty, and staff can access Reserve material.
Reserves can be found in the reserve catalogue. Type in your professor's name, the course code or the course name and click on the corresponding button. A list of items will appear. Click on the correct option and a list of available reserves will appear. Verify that the item is available to be checked out and bring the call number and your current student card to the circulation/service desk.
Overdue hourly loans (including CDs): $4 per hour or any part thereof to a maximum of $100 per item.
Overdue daily reserve loans (including CDs): $10 per day or any part thereof to a maximum of $100 per item.
OTHER FINE SANCTIONS:
Other charges may apply once the maximum fine has been reached.
Charges may apply for overdue material for which fines are not normally assessed.
Suspension of borrowing privileges will occur when a borrower’s fines total $10 or more.
Marks will be withheld for non-payment of library fines or unreturned library material.
Daily check out restrictions may be applied for high demand material.
